Playlist File Remover... Rolling Playlist ... Dr. O
Here's one for Daz... A twist on the Playlist File Remover.
Take it a stage or so further and have several playlists that roll through, with the most recent played track going to the back of the queue in playlist 1, but then it triggers off another playlist which also plays a track and puts it at the bottom of the queue and then triggers off another playlist which... You get the picture! Anything been done like that before? Obviously this request is related to Low Power FM broadcasting in the first instance but who knows. It's been done in some of the fancier (high priced) radio automation systems, but who has $5 -10k to throw around? Chris in New Zealand |

so basically, pull a song from each playlist, looping through playlist 1, 2 and so on until you reach the end of the playlist list and then start on the next track in playlist 1 and so on?
if that's so i can't see why i couldn't mod playlist file remover's playlist handler to allow for an add-in plugin to do this (with existing behaviour being used for normal users if it's not present) -daz |

You're a legend Darren. What can I say... I hope someone headhunts you and starts paying you some seriously good money for your talents, that's if they aren't already. I reckon we should clone you and Justin together... What an insane combination that would make.

just a thought on the ui for it...
with the list at the top, there'd be the following columns.. [ Playlist | Top Track | Total Entries | Active ] where Top Track is the first track of the playlist, Active is whether the playlist is to be used in the rotation at the time. i'll need to do a bit more work but hope something like that is in the right direction for things -daz |

Looks very promising Darren, and colorful too. Taking your graphics as a prototype, would each of those (6) playlists be saved as regular, or perhaps modified .m3u/.pls files? If so, then the content could be "massaged" for distribution/balance in a second instance of Winamp. Which begs the question, if a sequence of playlists is constructed, is it possible that the sequence then be saved as a .m3u/.pls file... in effect, a series of playlists saved within a playlist? Then, when you finalize the "Timed Events" (Play At Time) in JTFE, it could conceivebly instruct a variety of .m3u's (containing the rolling m3u's) to be initiated at set times of the day (referred to as dayparting in the radio industry) where morning playlists are significantly different from afternoon/night/overnight playlists.
