check to see if there are compatibility libraries you can install from 5 or 4.

Part of the problem with going to the latest OS version is that software needs time to catch up.

This is what I run for sc_serv (server) and often I use the transcoder as well to read my mp3 and stream them on the net. Or I use winamp DSP to connect to the same server.

Use the 5x and 4x compability libaries and you cant go wrong.

PM me if you need to.

I too had issues with the FreeBSD builds so I installed the compat libraries and just run the normal Linux version now which is alot more stable.

its all ready supported! with 4.x and 5.x compability loaded.

if you dont know how to load the compatibilty libaries, use windows (God forbid).

Get onto your freebsd box:

SU (go root)

cd /usr/ports/misc/compat4x

make clean install

cd /usr/ports/misc/compat5x
make clean install

then issue the startup command

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/000.compat*.sh

viola!

do'nt have the ports? then issue a sysinstall, go to configure, packages and add them both.

If you have a webhost that doesnt support the 4.x and 5.x libs, then use the linux version it would require your server to have linux_compat loaded as well.

sysinstall then configure, startup LINUX. Load it from the CD/DVD or the internet.

sc_trans_freebsd and / or sc_trans_linux both work. the linux version uses 4 threads which I dont like but it works.

If you are a noob, no worries people will just be sarcastic to you.

Nice name by the name : test? Why not bsdn00b LOL

Take care man.
