Listener Login Scripts?

Is there any way via php scripts & mysql to create a required login id/passwd before connecting to the shoutcast station for our listeners? I want to limit my users to those who registered via email verification. I was thinking of doing this on the IP level by making the server private with reserve slots but thats not going to work as some of my listeners have dynamic IP's.

Any help or links would be much appreciated!

search the boards for authentication and you will see there is not much around in the way of this with shoutcast itself.

there is a script here but is unsupported and has caused many sleepless nights for a lot of people,

for authentication you can look at steamcast or icecast or if you wish to have a hosted version of authentication for shoutcast then we can offer you this service and you will find the links below in my sig.

Thanks Nick for the link. I understand the code is unsupported but have one general shoutcast server question that I can't figure out.

I take it in order to test this script I need my .pls file edited to point to the php script.

Where is this elusive .pls file on my shoutcast server? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks again.
