G 15

Hi everyone,
I just bought the new G15 from Logitech,
And it is perfect. The only thing.. The media buttons don't support Winamp..
The lcd-screen does show what is playing.
But the media buttons don't work..
Does Anyone know or there is a plugin? or can someone write one? (cause i'm a noob in writing my own software )
Thanks,

Nick

Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Global Hotkeys > check 'Enabled' and set the hotkeys

In most cases that should suffice. If not, see here for a whole bunch of threads on this topic containing suggestions/fixes:

Can it be made so that the volume on the G15 adjusts the WinAmp volume, not the system volume?

hotkeys for volume would make it adjust the winamp volume

in windows you can turn off the volume keys for system volume, are you using inteli-type or other keyboard software?, if not are you running XP?

if you have extra software for your keyboard, when you go to keyboard in the control panel, under key settings or some similar tab, there should be a list of special keys.
one should be volume, and should be set to adjust system volume, either disable it, or set it to do noting.

if you do not have 3rd party keyboard software, it has to be changed somewhere else, i'll look it up and reply asap...

there is a way, somewhere to set what keys do what actions, maybe in the registry, or in a ini setting file somewhere.
i can't find it currently.

if you have a program that allows you to adjust the key actions within the the keyboard control panel, then that is your solution.

if not, you can set the winamp hotkey, and it will adjust both the winamp volume and the windows mixer. this might be what you are looking for, might not.

if i can find where to adjust the keyboard action settings, i'll post back here.

To control winamp volume open up winamp > hit ctrl p to enter the preferences menu > click Global Hotkeys About halfway down the list > make sure the enable button is checked > on the list of hotkeys you should see 2 hotkeys: Playback: Volume up and Playback: Volume Down. Click Playback: Volume up and click into the hotkey area > onces you click it roll your volume knob clockwise and then it should change the hotkey to volume up > click set > repeat with Playback: Volume down but rotating the knob counter clockwise. To set the volume wheel up so you can use Ctrl+Volume Wheel to change WinAmps volume:
FIRST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GLOBAL HOTKEYS ENABLED! (here)

1. Browse to C:\Program Files\Winamp
2. Open WinAmp.ini in notepad
3. Scroll to the bottom of the file where you should find

action5=ghkdc vup
hotkey5=3622
action6=ghkdc vdown
hotkey6=3624

Change this to say:

action5=ghkdc vup
hotkey5=2735
action6=ghkdc vdown
hotkey6=2734

Now save the file, and open WinAmp.
Try holding Ctrl and then moving the volume wheel.
Hope that helps!
