How to burn mp3s???

I'm using WinAmp Pro 5.2 and I'm just learning to use it. When I make a playlist of mp3s from my library and then burn them to a CD, they end up as .cda files even though I set the output for mp3.
Any ideas where to start looking for what I'm doing wrong?

Burning of MP3 data CDs is part of the Wishlist and not currently implemented.

Just so I understand this, are you saying that I cannot select MP3s from my hard drive then burn them to a CD as mp3 files using the CD burner in WinAmp Pro 5.2? Thanks for your time, Tom

If you select MP3's from you harddrive and burn them with Winamp, then you get an audio CD (.cda files).

Thanks for straightening me out on this one. I saw your Pro request to burn MP3 data CDs.
Is there a WinAmp plugin that will burn mp3 data cds?

I'm not aware of a third party plugin, a long time ago, there was a Veritas burning plugin for Winamp, but it's outdated and doesn't work with 5.x.

To be honest, I burn all my CDs/DVDs with Nero.

Any idea when the developers will get this feature added? I've been experimenting with Winamp and was about ready to switch to it an the Pro version until I discovered this major weakness. I burn all my CDs as MP3, using playlists that I've created across multiple directories. Having to re-create each new playlist in a separate app is a major inconvenience. I will hold off buying the Pro version until this feature is added.

Yup I'm in the same shoes. The thing with Nero, you cant arrange the files in the order that you want them to be in. As soon as you guys add this in, I'm definatly purchasing pro!!!

Maybe you like Drag 'n drop from playlist editor to drag files in a playlist directly to Nero.

Or a plugin like gen_yar, which will let you copy all files in a playlist to a new location. You can then easily burn those files.

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

Someone else in the forum said Drag 'n Drop doesn't work with Winamp 5.21. Anyway, I couldn't get it to work. I ended up just importing my m3u playlist into Musicmatch and burning MP3 CDs from there. That works the best for now.
