Trapt/Chevelle/Nickelback concert
OK, I just got back from a live concert with Trapt, Chevelle, and Nickelback...And it fucking kicked ass!
There was so much stuff going on during these 4 hours, that if I were to babble about the concert in it's entirety, then I might as well right a damn book on the thing instead...So instead, here are my highlights in relative short worth noting... Trapt Came out as the opening group, kicked ass...Sound was tight, crowd got worked a little, same awsome band I saw about 3 or 4 years ago...If there wasn't seating, then a mosh pit (Like when I saw them the first time during an outdoor venue) would surely have endured, especially during "Headstrong", since they're a great band to see live...Gonna have to get their new/recent album now... Chevelle Also came out kicking ass...About this time, the crowd was warmed up and wasn't so tight...Chevelle was a little heavier musically than Trapt, although most of their stuff is down-tempo'd compared to Trapt, but also like Trapt, their a great band live when compared to their studio efforts...Bassist wasn't ecstatic, though, since he was just a fill-in for their real bassist (Dunno what happened to their bassist, though)...Now felt a bit comfortable for headbanging, and even a mini-mosh with my younger cousin...Probably gonna have to get their albums too... Nickelback Now, THIS is where things got interesting...They came out with a bang, and I mean that literally...Fireworks, pyrotechnics; From right at the very beginning to the time they left the stage for good, it was lights, fire, and explosives...Musically, they were the ass kickers, especially since the sound control guys cranked the PA system WAY up for them...And I thought Chevelle and Trapt were heavier than I thought they were; I knew who Nickelback were, and even I was surprised...They played just about all their hits including some more, as well as stuff from their very first album...Sound was dead on, solos came in clear, bass lines were tight, and the drummer...OH MY GOD, Daniel Adair...He's phenomenal! Right up there with Keith Moon, Alex Van Halen, Neil Peart, Shannon Larkin...How do I know? The drum solo...You'd only have to attend a concert to understand...During "free shit" giveaways, they played the intro riffs to Pantera's "Cowboys From Hell" and Metallica's "Seek and Destroy"...Best part of the concert was their tribute to Dimebag Darrell, "Side of a Bullet"...Too bad encore was only one song, but then again, they didn't have much to play anyway... So I screamed my vocal chords out, went deaf, got some headbanging in, and even got my ass kicked...OK, so the last one is only figurativly, but the rest is literally...Next to Ozzfest, it had to have been the best damn concert I've ever been to thus far!

Congrats, sounds like you had one hell of a time!
I don't think there is anything that can compare to the sheer energy and adrenaline rush that comes from being at a rock show. ![]() Spiral out, my friend. You will find your way back to yourself, we all will. I'll be waiting, and shall see you on the other side... |
