Your log seems clean to me.
load=ptsnoop.exe in win.ini (path = windows\system\ptsnoop.exe) is usually legit (related to drivers for some dialup modems) but although it's unlikely in your case, it has also been known to be a trojan... http://www.google.com/search?q=win.i...xe+-hijackthis Upload ptsnoop.exe here for a free check, just to make sure http://www.kaspersky.com/remoteviruschk.html ibestbar.dll and balloon.exe appear to be related to your isp (discador ibest) and although they are probably not essential startup items, they're also safe/legit. O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Machine Debug Manager] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\MDM.EXE The Microsoft Machine Debug Manager is safe/legit, but is also not an essential startup item, and can be a bit of a resource hog, as well as causing problems/conflicts with some programs (mainly because it constantly monitors all running programs and fires out error messages for even the slightest of bugs). O4 - Startup: Microsoft Office - OSA9.EXE is also a useless resource hog. O4 - Startup: WinZip Quick Pick WZQKPICK.EXE is legit, but not essential (down to user's choice). I recommend that you disable osa9.exe and mdm.exe All other entries are fully legit, and essential/required. You can get a second opinion by running a spyware scan with Adaware SE, and a free online virus scan at any of the following sites: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner http://housecall.trendmicro.com http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx http://www.pcpitstop.com/antivirus/default.asp http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/ |

Cool
![]() When installing under Win98, I recommend unchecking the following items in the installer options: Winamp Library section: -Portable Media Player Support > PlaysForSure support (only loads under WinXP) -Predixis MusicMagic (not compatible with Win9x) Audio Support section: -Sonic Ripping/Burning Support (has been known to cause problems under Win9x) |
