Nak error

Hello. I am trying to set up a shoutcast radio station, and I ran into the Nak error, showing to disable internet sharing/isp cache and so forth, the very same within the sticky. I Have attempted every listed possible solution. I have forwarded ports 8000 and 8001, tried the YP port as both 80 and 666, and every combo possible with the Base ports, as well as the IP adress, from my own to 127.0.0.1 to ANY and every combo possible with those and to no avail. Passwords are entered correctly the server is set up with the correct output and encoder, with the right formats and everything. Terribly sorry about posting to a well known error, but I have attempted all possible solutions within the website linked in the sticky, and all those posted, and I am unsure of what to do at this point.

I'm on a standard dsl connection with Verizon, Lynksis router.

Computer Specs:
HP Pavillion a800n
3200+ AMD (2.2ghz)
1 gb RAM
160 GB internal HD

thank you in advance for any assistance.

Chances are you didn't configure the router properly.

Hmm thats the thing i've forwarded ports prior to this, and I've always done it the "right" way apparently, so i dont understand wut could possibly be the problem.

read the links your were sent to troubleshoot the nak errors

while you are at it, test your DSL upload speed to make sure you havent made the mistake of trying to stream on service that doesnt give you a good upload speed. go to www.speakeasy.net/speed and run their speed tests.

then it time to do some math!

UPLOAD / YOUR BIT RATE = # of listerns before all your upload speed it gone.

Hi,

I went through the same thing.

Here is what I found.

In your Windows Networking Control Panel, where you configure your IP network adapter, you need to make the network connection on your computer STATIC, like 198.168.1.101, or what ever is correct for the router you have.

Next, on the router, you need to have the port forwarding set up. Go to http://www.portforward.com/ and set up the port forwarding on your router...

You see, port forwarding only works when the network adapter is set to STATIC.

Once I did that, as well as the other stuff in the help forum here it all worked.

This looks very promising in terms of getting it to work. You'll have to excuse me though, i'm not entirely sure how to do this, I checked through my connection settings and i could not find an option to allow me to do this.

windows ? start help. networking learn how to setup a static (you assigned the address, not automaticly).

regarding your high speed internet router, you need to visit portforward.com like a previous post indicated, it will help you setup the forwarding.

you should know how to setup tcp/ip on your computer
understand NAT and port forwarding.
and how fast your UPLOAD speed it .big mistake around here, people have high speed internet, but it may not be fast enough to act as a shoutcast server (shoutcasting take lots of bandwidht). www.speakeasy.net/speed has some tests you can run.

cheers
