Nak Error

Good Evening Everyone I am the Owner of Beat the Wave Radio. I went through the Shoutcast site and where it shows all the Stations and Typed in Listeners Choice. My Station use to show up as Listeners Choice till Yesturday about the time I was Djing which was 11 am EST. Now this is not just Nak Error. I keep getting Estended Error (Nak)(100) I need to know what this as I have read alot of stuff to night and I am not sure what is wrong. My Members and Staff are concerned for my Stations sake as We have started to grow and without being listed on the Shoutcast page It is hard for Beat the Wave to Grow any farther then it has. Can someone please help me as we have no firewall or anything like that as my station is a played station by b2netsolutions. So I am just wondering what is gone. I will be getting a hold of my Provider tomorrow Some time to see what he says. Perhaps it is a problem on his end but I would like some assistance with this please.

Thanks.

it not you alone, no one is picking on you . the yp (YELLOW PAGES FOR SHOUTCAT) is a pisser to deal with. Its not accurate and posting in the forums only makes every sigh. We know, we can not fix it, and ar'nt the guys in charge of what is listed and what is no.

You should use your own website to promote your station, not just shoustcast.com listings. This is what the huge stations do, they promote withing.

Try to have a good one. hopefully the yp servers get fixed

Cheers

It's only important if you can't be bothered to advertise your radio in any other manner.
eg : not important

Alright thanks We do have our website and MSN and what not so I guess it is all good laughing. I just hate it because it just seemed to happen when an Ex friend of mine start her station and then started to use my pages for my website and my Genre which is no longer there so it kind of made me worry just a tad you know. Laughs

nak(100) error can be fixed. It's a problem on the YP end. But I worked around it by changing the PortBase on the DNAS.

If you were running on port 8000, change it to 8500, for example. (If you're behind a router, you'll also need to update your port forwarding settings). After you restart, if you get a visit from the Shoutcast Directory Tester, you're in good shape.

That doesn't work with my server Bud. When we switched from 8000 to 8500 it didn't work. So I would not recommend this to anyone else.

I would. It worked for me on five servers across 3 data centers. Others have also done it with success. But you have to forward ports on the router too.

I think the reason it doesn't work for Beat the Wave Radio is because it is a set port by that of my host. I will speak to my host and see about getting the port changed as soon as the renewal comes up thanks everyone for your assistance.
