Launching one sc_serv, multiple processes showing up

Hey,

I'm launching sc_serv with:

./sc_serv config_file_name.conf

I give this command once, but 5 or 6 "sc_serv config_file_name.conf" processes (each with a different PID) are showing up when I do a ps ax.

I'm using Putty, bash, and Red Hat 7.2.

Any idea why? And how to make only one launch?

Thanks,
rg.

no, there is no way to only make once launch.

As far as I know, we are not too sure exactly why so many daughter threads are ran when one launches sc_serv. We just know that it happens and is normal.

As I believe you are going to very quickly connect, when you change the config around and want to relaunch, you need to make sure that all the threads have been killed.

Is that sucking down serious system RAM and CPU. I'm not worried about this one DNAS, but I'm going to launch 3 or 4 more. That's more than 20 processes.

that is odd. sc_trans should not be using much of your cpu at all.

RH7.2 has been around so long, I would think that it is not going to be a problem with the disrto. Was RH using the 2.2 or 2.4 kernel then?
