Certain Tracks Won't Play

Can someone help me with this please?

...just came across this issue today - an error message pops up saying:

this file is encrypted with an Output protection level higher than supported in winamp

What does this mean, and how do I fix it?

The only time I have ever seen this issue reported before was when someone was using an older buggy version of Winamp and then attempted to play DRM protected files via the older (and buggier) In2TV that used to be offered with Winamp.

So, I'll assume that you are not using the most current version of Winamp...

Get rid of whatever old buggy version you are using and upgrade to the latest version. Upgrade to the currently supported version (as of the time of this post, that would be v5.52).

Chances are that you will no longer receive that error.

*Note: if I'm wrong and the error is not being generated via In2TV, then you are most likely trying to play DRM protected files, which would possibly generate that error too.
