Magnetosphere-like preset

Is there preset that can reproduce Magnetosphere? Or is there a way it can work with MilkDrop or any other visualization plug-in?

wow, didnt know Magnetosphere before. - pretty cool particle system. I guess it's nearly impossible to recreate it with Milkdrop.

As a matter of fact I don't use Winamp, but Mediamonkey which is almost compatible with Winamp's plugins. I don't know anything about these Visualizations, I was never interested until I saw this one.

Do you think that some other plugin could reproduce it?

I've been searching for ways to get/emulate Magnetophere in Winamp.

Just wondering if anyone's had any luck with this?

Forget it. Milkdrop knows no z-coordinate. You can draw multiple shapes but they are all on top of each other, i.e. shape No. 2 will be painted in front of shape 1.... it would be really tricky to sort the shapes in a way that those you meant to be in the foreground will not be overpainted by others which are in the background but were painted later.
Second, the shaders in MD work on a flat mesh and there is no way to tell MD that objects have a z-coordinate. Once your shapes have been painted, they MD forgets anything about them and only lets you manipulate the flat canvas they were painted on. You can add smoke trails, but they will be common to all shapes, like watercolours flowing on a sheet of paper.
Magnetosphere must treat all individual objects - balls, trails, etc. - as separate entities in xyz-space, so they can be rotated, moved around and shown from any viewpoint.

In MD, there is only the flat drawing canvas and therefore all attempts to emulate magnetosphere will fail. Sorry.

And also, one preset author submitted a MilkDrop preset in WINAMP.com. All of you should check out this.
