Hey you preset authors (me including). Why doesn't everyone grab his (or her?

)best 10-20 presets (remixes or from sketch) and they will make it to the next winamp distribution? If there's any interest, i will write to DJ Egg, but i guess this will be no problem.
Do it now and maybe we can establish something like a milking-contest at regular intervals.

do we need special rules? (at least 2-3 PS1.0 presets?)
any further suggestions? deadline?

I could collect them first: just send me a PM with a rapidshare download link. When it's over, i'll probably have a nice bundle and we can filter collaborative.

Hi Flexi, have you been to an employee motivation course ?

I'd certainly appreciate to have my presets distributed - certainly a good feeling to see others benefit from all this work.

As to the contest, why not, but I would recommend not to mix up shader versions. Should have categories ps1-3. While a ps3 preset may not necessarily be more impressive than ps1, I feel it would be unfair to those authors with only ps1 capabilites to compare like for like. ps3 just offers a hell lot more possibilities.

If ps1 presets should be a requirement - count me out. I am not into retro style, and just find it plainly boring to write code for obsolete hardware. There are already plenty of excellent ps1 presets out there and I feel no need to contribute any more.

is this still going on, or was this just a concept?? I think we need some quality promotion of this (and our own website?), maybe some updates, list of people who have entered??? Just an idea

I don't know if there is the scope for 20 presets for each author few hundreds presets will be too many I think.

But yes an updated list will be good and we will get it published.

Ryan & Rovastar - Moderator ? Surprise, I thought this forum was almost as dead as a doornail - few postings here except those from a small community sharing their presets, the sticky messages last edited 2002 and the link to milkdrop.co.uk also having collected a bit of dust over the years...

my proposal:

Best 5 from each PS version that you want to submit.
At least 3 for each category of your own work.

That sound OK? Maybe do this every 2 months?

I think one of us should make a special thread for that.
I mean ONLY for preset contest. Look Flexi: everyone just post their files; you look into every two months, and after that the thread is purged by Rovastar. Don't you think PMs aren't better?

I agree. I'll do that once we can agree on the guidelines. My suggestion for that still stands.

Since there's no consistent interest and availability, a total of 15 is a quite compromise don't you think?
