i'm a graduating class electrical engineer and i'm working on my final project which is "digital oscilloscope using the sound card of a computer"
i was supposed to use directsound to capture the signal input from the line in of the sound card and stream it to be displayed using some kind of s******e, if u know anything about this topic SOL

tip: do it the easy way: use AVS

* For line-in input, select Open Location (Ctrl+L) and type in "linein://" and hit Open (no quotes).

* Open AVS (Ctrl+Shift+K)
* Right-click the new window > AVS Editor
* In the editor, click "Main" (top of the list)
* from the buttons above it, click [-]
the list should be empty now
* make sure "Clear Every Frame" is checked
* Click [+] > "Render" > "Simple"
* Select "Simple" in the list, and set:
- Spectrum --> Oscilloscope
- Solid --> Lines
