Streaming Radio Stations - Save Song List?
Is there a plugin or option to save the playlist from an internet radio station? Currently it just displays the song details while it is playing, then moves on to the next one.
I am accessing the radio stations from the Shoutcast site. |

It will always do that. It's dynamic in most cases, and the broadcasts change constantly. So there is no way to actually save a "particular" broadcast (as a playlist). Now, you can save the broadcast URL as a playlist BUT... The URL is also subject to change. SHOUTcast broadcasters occasionally change their broadcast URL's, so you'll have to occasionally check to see if that in fact happened, and then resave it again... ![]() To see the URL that's actually being saved, you can do this... ![]() Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. Thanks for the speedy response. Manually saving is not really what I am looking for. Basically I want to be able to see a list of all the songs that a station played during a session.
If nothing exists that does this, then I think this would make a pretty good "first project" for me to try my hand at Winamp plugins. There is already an event being fired when the song changes, since it sends the song title, etc to the little notification popup window. I assume that all I have to do is hook into this event and and write the information to a text file as well as having it go to the pop up. Does that sound about right? Edit: Incidentally, I am only only looking at saving the song information, not the actual playlist/song files - I'm not sure if that was clear. |

Interesting topic.
You refer to Shoutcast. I use Live365 a lot and it does not seem to display the song titles and artists. Is there a way of making it do so? Tony |

Hi Tony,
Are you listening to Live365 through the website, the Live365 downloadable player, or Winamp? If you use the website, the player launches in one window, but the original window that you found the station from will have a list of the songs played since your session started. The downloadable player has a little button that slides open a side panel with track info and song list on it. If you are using Winamp, I am not sure - I have never tried that. |

I've created some Winamp bookmarks for my Live365 listening.
Maybe I should go back to the Live365 site and use their player. Just had this phobia that Winamp made it sound better - but probably for streamed radio that's a bit optimistic. I'll do some experimenting. Tony |

I heard about a tool, Radiotracker, that it saves some shows on PC and also downloads mp3s directly from internet radio stations, keeping the names of song/artist. Anyone tried it???
