Missing DirectX component?

Hi,

Using Winamp 5.572, Windows 7 Ultimate.

Twice I've had the following error message:
"Your computer is missing a Microsoft DirectX component required by Winamp.
Latest version of Microsoft DirectX available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...a-9b6652cd92a3"

As far as I know I have the latest version of DirectX so why am I getting this message?

I've read the release notes but still don't quite understand. Does this mean that winamp (milkdrop2 also) requires directX 9 to also be installed on a windows 7 machine?

Could someone elaborate for me?

Mildrop2 requires d3dx9_31.dll to be present
Fullscreen video OSD requires d3dx9_42.dll to be present.

The DX web updater will install those if they're missing.

It won't overwrite any DX11 stuff...
