What would you install to have a working web player?
Hello all.
I've written a Flash player for Shoutcast. For all of you that have a bitter experience with preview attempts know that: - it works with AAC, AAC+, MP3 - reads metadata without any other server/client side help - has no memory issues - uses 2-3% of my 2GHz processor And everything would be perfect if not for the pesky Flash security sandbox. It needs a socket server on port 843 to allow access. The good news is that that is not that complicated. My question for you: would/could you install the server? Would you prefer a plain text option like http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashpla...icy_files.html or an executable program with a graphical interface? |

These are pretty big claims, if you made an open source one that works with AAC+?
If its true then you might officially be the new king of flash. Can i demo it? http://www.youtube.com/user/BrutishSail0r I follow Dave St. John's swag, Like this if my videos help: http://www.facebook.com/casterhub |

Flash 10.1 allows some new ways to fix old problems
![]() Leaving the skepticism aside, would shoutcast host providers be willing to set up a socket server if their users ask for it? The socket server only listens to port 843 and outputs a small text life - the crossdomain.xml No media servers needed. I'll ask people to beta test in a couple of weeks. I hope.
