Winamp FLAC issue.
Greetings.
I've been using Winamp for a very long time now, and have been using it to play FLAC files without any problems until I updated to the newest version. Winamp simply fails to recognise FLAC files. I haven't changed any options nor have I uninstalled any plug-ins. I managed to get FLAC files to work by downgrading Winamp to the version before the last though it only worked after I installed a FLAC plug-in, which is again odd because I used that version before downloading the new one and never had to install a plug-in for FLAC. The problem with this solution is that my Last.fm Scrobbler cannot read song info anymore. I checked and found out that most of the options in Winamp's tag editor are missing. This never happened before, and I have used the Scrobbler with FLAC files countless times before. While I did solve my initial problem, I'd like to be able to use my Last.fm Scrobbler when I listen to music on FLAC again, as well as be able to use the latest version of Winamp. Help would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi
Remove the 3rd-party plugin. Reinstall Winamp 5.581 and make sure FLAC support is checkmarked under the "Multimedia Engine -> Audio Playback" section of the Installer Options. If the problem persists, then please attach your List of Plugins. |

Oddly enough, the last two times I reinstalled, it had only 4 supported formats in that list but I removed that plug-in and reinstalled again, and it's working now. I don't understand why that happened, since I didn't uninstall anything, but it's working.
Cheers. |
