A little info about your PC and nsvcap setup would help.
For instance, with my setup/settings CPU: Pentium IV 3.0Ghz/HT, RAM: 1GB DDR400 RAM O/S: Windows XP SP3. nsvcap settings: Video : 320x240@20fps, VP6, 128kbit Audio: AAC+ 48kbit Before I start streaming, CPU usage for nsvcap is virtually 0, memory usage is 16MB While streaming, CPU usage goes between 10 and 16%, memory usage is 19MB "If you don't like DNAS, write your own damn system" So I did |

nsvcap, webcam max, and sams broadcaster all at ounce.
I see nothing unusual in the behavior you are experiencing. I imagine webcam max is feeding nsvcap. I bet both sams and nsvcap share wave input and both encode audio. I bet webcam max is blending more than one video input. I would expect one horrible experience from this combination if the encode and blend parameters were too intense. |

Video compression is a big deal on any PC, no matter how strong.
I think you are getting off easy..... In the old days of Athlons and Pentium 4, you could expect 80 to 90 percent CPU usage. |
