ml_wire.dll Keeps Causing WinAmp to Crash

I have been running WinAmp on Windows 7 for over a year now. Within the last week, WinAmp started crashing about 5-10 seconds after I it launched. I rebooted, reinstalled, cleaned out settings, and it kept crashing.

Finally, I fired up the debugger to figure out the issue. Turns out one of the plugins, ml_wire.dll was causing the crash (see below for complete details.) I renamed this plugin to ml_wire.dll.old, fired up WinAmp and it seems to be running just fine.

What does ml_wire.dll do? What functionality will be missing without it?
