Help with Podcast. Playlist
I am a new Winamp user. Just downloaded latest and tried using. Need help and have not found answers for my two questions.
1) I want to download Podcasts and transfer to my Sansa MP3 player. Is there a procedure to follow to download only newer podcasts as I delete podcasts off of my mp3 player? I want them to be synced and do not want to reload podcaqsts I already listened to. Is it just up to me to keep track of which podcasts were tranfrerred and not transfer them again, or is there a more automatic way to manage? 2) I ripped a CD and created playlist. Having trouble getting exact playlist transferred to Sansa MP3 player? What is procedure? Thanks, I have tried many things, read many help items, but never found concise procedure I should follow yet. Thanks, |

Help with Podcasts
Since no one has replied, it leaves me to think my question does not make any sense for anyone to reply to. Sorry, I may not be wording my situation correctly.
When I download podcasts to my computer using WinAmp, I only want to download podcasts I have not downloaded before (newest ones). I transfer these to my MP3 player and delete them off the MP3 player as I listen to them. I am thinking when I download podcasts again to my computer, I will get the older podcasts again and may then transfer them to my MP3 again. How do I keep track of what I have already listened to? I currently have many podcasts and it is confusing to track old and new podcasts. Thinking there is a way to do this that keeps things straight but I may not be doing it correctly. Any advise appreciated. |

Hi
For #1, there's settings to automate Podcast updates/downloads in: Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Media Library -> Podcast Directory Maybe change "Download New Episodes" to "Most recent episode"? Then go to: Prefs -> Portables -> (device) -> Podcast Sync tab and change the sync setting to "1" most recent episodes of: For #2 (playlist sync).... Make sure the playlist is added to/listed in the "Media Library -> Playlists" section Then go to: Prefs -> Portables -> (device) ->Sync tab and checkmark "Update selected playlists only" and checkmark the relevant playlist from the list underneath. If checked, uncheck "Update all songs from my Local Media Library". Naturally, you'll need to keep changing those settings for new syncs (ie. remember to uncheck the selected playlist, etc).... |

Help with Podcasts
Thanks, that is what I needed to know. I knew about Podcast updates but will do the other.
As far as downloading podcasts, once they are loaded onto my MP3 player, do I have to manually delete from my computer? I was hoping that after transferring, there was a way to delete them then. Maybe there is, as I am exploring all that WinAmp offers. Glad I obtained this software to get podcasts. |

Hmm, well if you want to delete the podcasts from your hard drive,
then you can do that via the "Local Media -> Podcasts" view (select items in bottom pane -> right click -> remove -> physically remove selected items) or also via the "Podcast Directory -> Downloads" view (right click -> delete file). |

Help with Podcasts
Thanks,
I will look at those areas. I am new and was overwhelmed with all the views in Winamp and was easily confused. Especially while trying to transfer a Playlist by right-click and send to Device and it did nothing. I will explore your suggestions. |

I understand how to control the updated podcasts and am getting them downloaded just fine. My problem is how to delete off of my hard drive (Media Library?) when I move them to my mp3 player.
My problem is I transfer podcasts to mp3 player, listen to them and delete them from the mp3 player as I finish listening to them. Then I attach mp3 player to Winamp and transfer more. I keep transferring the same ones. Many times the title displayed does not show date so I cant tell what podcast is being loaded. So I end up with many of previously loaded podcasts again. Looking for easy way to delete the transferred podcasts when they are transferred, so I will not be able to transfer them again. |
