Mysterious Upload/Download of data
Winamp 0.9.2 on a Sprint Evo. I have Winamp remote on my laptop but the laptop is never on. I am an only occasional user of Winamp on my Evo so I took notice when I recently downloaded "Traffic Stat's Lite" program and found that it claims Winamp is moving constant data on the network. So far it reports 2-3 Mb a day (!), an awful lot for a program that I'm not interacting with.
I have just noticed that "Spare Parts" has a similar function, it reports WinAmp has moved 1/2 Mb today (1/4 up and 1/4 down). Again, this is without me listening to anything so there should be virtually no traffic. Just for EG Spare Parts reports that Gmail app has moved about 1/4 Mb for the day. This is with a dozen email back and forth from my phone. Tweetdeck in checking my FB and Tweets has moved 5 Mb today. Any clues? Thanks. |

For reasons not related to WinAmp I had to hard reset (factory reset) my phone. As I was taking my time to re-load apps I noticed a pleasant surprise. My phone that needed an every 4 hour power boost now lasts 10+ hours on one charge. Maybe sometime I'll decide to re-load Winamp but for now I'm enjoying the time with my phone not on the charger.
