keeps trying to resync the same songs

I transferred about 800 songs to from my computer to my Android phone using FTP (installed swiFTP server on my phone). I have winamp 0.9.2 on my phone and winamp 5.601 on my PC (running Windows XP). I figured the since I use winamp on both my phone and PC that the sync feature would be useful so I tried it out. I had no problems connecting to my android phone, winamp on my PC detected it perfectly.

The problem I'm having is that it always wants to resync the same songs even though they are already on BOTH the Android phone and the PC. Restarting the phone and/or the PC does not help. Clearing winamp user data and rescanning media on the Android phone did not help. Uninstalling winamp on the Android device and reinstalling it did not help. Resending the songs did not help. I can clearly tell that the songs are on the Android phone (since I can play them and see them). Why does the winamp sync feature keep doing this?

Same issue here. I created a thread in the tech support section earlier, not realizing that this could be from the android app side. (my apologies MODS

)

- I completely formatted the folder structure to winamps sync style by deleting the music from my device and running a sync. Then deleting the music from my HD and syncing from my device.

- All syncs were done Via SDcard mount.

- Now when I run a sync Via SDcard mount it says that there is nothing to sync, like it should because the file structures are identical on both the device and the HD.

- Here's the fun part... When i connect via Wifi, it shows that there IS music to sync... But in both columns the files are identical (all of them, see screen cap)

Check to see if you have duplicates of those songs in your Winamp library. I had a similar issue and that seemed to be the problem.

I have the same problem. I started from scratch, deleting everything on both ends. Then, I put only two songs in one of my watch folders, rescanned so that they were then in the winamp library, and then tried to sync over wireless. It said those 2 songs will be copied to my phone, and 0 songs will be copied to my library, which is correct. It did that. Then, I tried to sync again, and it said, nothing to sync and everything is up-to-date. OK, that's good. Then I closed winamp and opened it up again. I then tried to sync, expecting it to say everything is up-to-date. It now said those same 2 songs will be copied to the phone and that those 2 songs are not in my library, just like the pictures others have posted. WTF?

I have the same problem here... Clearly this seems to be a bug with the Winamp app on the Android phone. I sync'd about 500 songs which I can see are on both the phone and the pc. I've noticed that most all of the songs do not show up in the play list on phone. I can use the file manager in is OS and see that the songs are on the device itself in the music folder but Winamp for some reason did not clearly add them to the Winamp music list.

I see no way to do a refresh...

Winamp, please fix this bug it's very horrible!!!

If you have access to the SD filenames, check that files are written to the Android with the same filename as on your local system. If there is any slight difference it will not recognize as the same file.

I wish the sync would keep the exact same filename instead of trying to parse ID3 data and trying to make a filename from it for the sync.

Fortunately, most of my filenames have a standard format, e.g. <Artist> - <Title>, but occassionally not since it give some searching flexibility in case I might want multiple titles, etc.

So after you are sync'ed, go under:

Options - Preferences --> Media Library --> Portables
Options - Preferences --> Media Library --> Portables --> DeviceID
Options - Preferences --> Media Library --> CD Ripping

and get the filenaming conventions to match.

In my case (see my first post), winamp says that the files are synced, but when I close winamp and reopen it, it acts like I never synced, and tries to sync those same files. So, there's got to something else going on.

I have something similar happening.
Winamp PC .601
Winamp Android 0.9.2

When I ainc (using internal memory) it wants to sync the same 63 files every time, and the playlistson the android show up empty.

I was finally able to sync the songs AND the playlists to the internal memory on the device, and into the 'Music' folder. I don't remember exactly how I did it or what was different when I finally succeeded, but I think it was just the way I connected the device to the USB port, and the order I launched the software:

connect to USB port, wait for beeps
launch Winamp on PC
launch Winamp on android device
select playlist(s), send to: (device)
sync
close Winamp on android device
close Winamp on PC
unplug from USB

Something like that. So as long as it doesn't un-do what I just got it TO do, I won't mind re-syncing a few songs to the device.
