Playing with some stuff.

It is at least interesting...not refined enough yet.

Very cool!
My biggest gripe with classic skins is the buttons are impossible to find easily...looks like you hit this one right on.

How can that be?, they are in the same place in every single classic skin ever made?

Well...I like Kurtz, but it's hard to see where things are on Kurtz. (I still love it)

Exactly. You can have a great looking skin but with no contrast the buttons can get buried.

Jax this feels very old school, I like it a lot. Interesting indeed. I approve!

Yeah, see your point, but the button will always be in the same position, regardless of the fact if you can see it or not, you could close your eyes and still find the button on any skin if you know your way around the classic UI

Now modern skins, that's another matter, I often find myself searching for where the play button has been hidden, or the EQ button etc etc

Also, tooltips FTW

have you ever felt you have bitten off more than you can chew? I am at the moment lost on what to do with this thing...I will get it but it is of course taking a long time as I am not happy at all with how it blends for some reason. This is one skin where I could use peacemakers know how...that is for sure.

Hey Mr Jones I agree!
That's why I try to make my modern skins easy to use.
My new skin just got published:
http://www.winamp.com/skin/simpleskin/222449
Should be easy to find controlbuttons .

Because I rarely use a windows based machine at home these days, I do have winamp on my works machines, where I generally do my skinning work, but not on my home machine.

ubuntu netbook remix all the way at home.....

Haven't used Linux for ages but I thought some people were running Winamp on it??? I could be way off though...The Linux/winamp clone (XMMS) was ok but nothing close to Winamp from what I remember.

Hope you can work something out with that WiP there, garetjax. I like the look of it: like some villain's lair, possibly an ice-themed one.

Who is the milkman? What is the purpose of the goggles?

This is looking great so far! But I do feel that the song title bar around the right hand side of the area is too soft, kind of blurred. I think having it more crisp would do it justice.

I'm speechless. How can you do such good graphics?

I agree with Mike about the song title bar.
And I like that purple colour.

So,

I know pm decided to hide some aspects of the skin and this was by design. As we actually were working quite heavily in the area's that were blurred. We wanted to show some of the work as it progressed but, also decidedly did not want to show areas that were not ready or were changing.

We are at a final point in the overall draft of the skin and are now to a point where it has been agreed that we can show the work. There is still some minor work to be done with respect to the overall design.

We will be working on our animations over the next few days and etc. We hope that you like it and please comment if you want. And if you have questions about where we are going with pieces of the skin as us...we pretty much have a general idea of what we are doing on each area.

Of note: We have at current count - 62 Updates that were done in the completion of this skin. There were 6 PSD Files transferred and 30 shared resources (screen caps).

Thank You,

Garetjax and Peacemaker
