Reliability of the BETA versions
Hello!
I'm using sc_trans 2 beta drop 6 now, but I'm wondering if this beta version is better than sc_trans v1, I mean, is sc_trans 2 beta drop 6 as or even more reliable than sc_trans v1? what are the differences? Thank you! ![]() Cheers, Jake |

beta drop 6 isn't the current version of the v2 transcoder - current version is build 40 (which is now showing on the broadcasting tools page).
as for the question, as beta drop 6 has been around for ~2 years and build 40 for a month and a half, both without any major issues reported and is now getting updates including some fixes for any known quirks, i would say using the v2 tool is fine. especially as it is the only version of the transcoder which gets dev support as i'm not even sure that v1 is even offered on an official level. the 'beta' in the name is more of a means to cover things incase there is an issue as the tools are stable from what i've seen from personal usage and from other user comments. as for the differences, i really don't know as i've never used a v1 transcoder though you can probably work it out by using the wiki to compare features, etc. -daz |
