Can I Shoutcast Through a Physical Firewall on a Dedicated Server?

I am trying to set up a radio station with Shoutcast on a dedicated server.

Can I do this with a physical firewall installed in front of the server? Can Shoutcast function properly through a physical firewall?

Help!

as long as you have opened the required ports (depending on what you've configured) then it should work through a firewall (as long as the firewall itself doesn't mess around with things).

the default ports are 8000 (or what you've set portbase as in your config file) and if you want a remote source to connect then it's generally 8001 or portbase + 1.
