Possible Hack Attempt Purporting To Be From WinAmp E-Mail
I received the below E-mail, purporting to be from WinAmp, today. I didn't click on any of its links, as I'm not at all certain it's actually from WinAmp, and I wouldn't advise anyone reading this to do so either!
Has anyone else received this E-mail, and if so, is it legit or just some hacker trying to get my WinAmp password? Thanks all, Lida ![]() ==================================================================== Wed, February 16, 2011 12:32:32 AM Winamp Forums Security Notification From: Winamp <noreply@winamp.com>Add to Contacts To: [email]lidarose (E-Mail Address) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feb 2011 Winamp Forums Security Notification Hello, My name is Geno Yoham and I am the General Manager of Winamp. that is a legit email based on the date you've received it - there are a few other posts just like it in the site discussion forum (where i'll move this thread to) and details about it in the security FAQ.
