Winamp SHOUTcast Radio problem

Hello! I need some help. I usually listen to blues radio stations in Winamp SHOUTcast Radio and for the past few weeks the list of radio stations is much smaller. There was usually around 400 blues radio stations and now there is only 30. Why? And is there anything I can do to bring them back?

My second question is...because I don't have all the blues radio stations in Winamp SHOUTcast Radio I went to Winamp web page to see how many radio stations are there. I found more blues radio stations than in Winamp SHOUTcast Radio (about 200 on web page). I said alright I will play them from web page list but I will open them in Winamp program. And it works but It won't open all radio stations in Winamp. I can open some of them in Winamp but others I can only play in Browser. Why is that??? Please help. BTW I use Winamp 5.56. I hope I wrote everything in detail. Thank you in advance!

i believe this might be related to some changes which have been made to the api which provides the results. is something i need to ask to confirm if it was intended or just something that slipped through with the changes made.

without examples of the ones that aren't working for you, it's hard to say what is possibly going wrong - as it could be from not having everything installed to play the streams or might be a bug in the version you're using. if you can provide some example links of ones that are not working then can advise from there.

as a note, that version is not supported, with 5.621 being the currently supported version.

I mean 5.621 yes I have the last version of the Winamp. I have solved the second question by finding the Settings in Help tab and selecting an option to open stations in my default media player...Winamp. But the first question is not solved. As I said there are about 200 radio stations on the Winamp Web Page in the blues genre and only 30 radio station in that genre in Winamp SHOUTcast Radio (in winamp program). Why is that?

it was answered as best as i can without having talked to the developer who maintains the backend api responsible for the in-Winamp page. when i have an answer (as a few other people have queried it recently), then i'll post back with an answer (whether it'll be liked or not - as i'm not sure why there was a change).

as i've not had a proper answer (hence not replying before), here's the best that i can give from what i've been able to work out from other people on the team.

there was a purposeful change for anything using the backend api which provides the results to other apps (including Winamp's view) to only get 30 results if a limit is not specified in the query (as Winamp is doing).

it requires changes to be made to the Winamp implementation to ask for more results or a specific tweak for how it's handled by the backend api when Winamp is sending the request. however due to the site failure this weekend and work on the recent Android and Mac apps, getting anything updated for the radio view is low on the list of things to be done.

probably not what you want to hear but with resources spread as is, that's the best i can say.

Well better something than nothing. I guess I have to be patient. At least it's on the ''to do list''. Thank you for your reply.

The former Winamp Shoutcast Radio was by far better than the new version. In the new version not all radiostations are shown but only 50 pages. Is a shame, is not democratic. On the other hand the former Shoutcast Radio web page was better. The old version could be accessed in Windows Mobile OS with internet explorer. The new one can't be accessed with internet explorer Windows Mobile OS. On a Windows mobile phone the page can be accessed with Opera, but the search don't work. I hope that Winamp Shoutcast Radio and the Shoutcast Radio web page will ameliorate.

Radio stations

Hello everyone! Are there any news about in-winamp radio stations? In-winamp radio stations are still missing and since my last post about 3-5% of radio stations are gone. What's happening? There are many radio stations on original winamp page (http://www.shoutcast.com/?ref=winamp), but on the in-winamp radio stations more than half are missing. Will this issue soon be on the top of the list? Thank you in advance.

the in-Winamp view is working as it is currently expected to work with only 30 listings at most with the searches so i'm not sure what you're referring to with them 'still missing'.

also stations often will and do come & go over time - the Directory does not force stations to be listed and so if they stop broadcasting then there's no much which can be done.

Hmm... Well I don't know how else to say it. On this site (http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Blues) There are over 200 radio stations in genre BLUES and in in-winamp page there are only 30 radio stations. That's what I'm talking about. There were over 600 radio stations in that genre only a year ago for example. Why can't original page and in-winamp page have the same number of radio stations. You see...not all radio stations were shut down or erased or whatever when I can listen to them on (http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Blues), and only on the that page. Why not in in-winamp page. I hope you understand my question and problem.

Blues genre was just an example because I listen to it. Take any other genre, Pop for example and compare in-winamp radio station listings and see how many are there and than go to http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Pop and keep on clicking on ''SHOW MORE'' and see how many you get there...i bet over 300. So how am I suppose to listen to that stations if they are not in in-winamp?

via shoutcast.com or making finer search results via the in-Winamp view.

changes where made to limit things when a limit is not directly specified and until / if that changes (which i doubt will happen), there is nothing which can be done to change that without additional backend changes (either via the in-Winamp page's code itself or via the API which drives it all).

i realise that it seems counter-intuitive / annoying but that's what was done and is well within SHOUtcast's rights to control / limit what can or cannot be provided.

if you don't like it, you can always send feedback to SHOUTcast though whether it'll be noted or not is a different thing.

I'm sorry for being annoying or boring. Just didn't understand why I can't listen to all radio stations that are on (http://www.shoutcast.com/), in in-winamp shoutcast. So please just one more simple answer and I'll be gone . Can I or can't I listen to ALL radio stations that are on (http://www.shoutcast.com/) in in-winamp shoutcast. Just simple YES or NO. Ty

all streams provided on shoutcast.com can be played in Winamp, but you currently cannot see all stations in in-Winamp the search results unless you know what you're looking for i.e. browsing is limited the 30 stations limit.

i do think it would be worthy to have www alphabetical pages that list every station reporting to the yp. it wouldn't have to have any other data aside from name of the station and a link to the stream.

PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/

BTW, is there a way to add stations to my current playlist like it was before? Since 5.621, I guess, whenever I click on a station, it automatically ereases my playlist and opens the station. Thanks!
