3 mirrored stereo pairs from my 5.1 sound card?

I have an Intel D945GCLF2 on Windows XP and Winamp 2.95 (no, I don't want to upgrade, this is a purpose built setup for handling audio from the background on my carPC). It has 6 channels for audio out and all the usual configs: 2.0, 4.1, 5.1, etc... All the drivers I've found so far allow 5.1 or stereo but I can't find a way to get the same stereo signal mirrored at each of the three output jacks. I am driving several amps in a car and want a typical automotive sound stage with 4 speakers (not a pseudo stereo-to-surround conversion) and a sub.

I've tried Winamp AC3 but no matter what I do I can' get the audio to actually pass through this codec. Suggestions?

Hi booksix,

I don't think you will find a driver or other software that will internally 'retask' the 3 jacks on the back panel the way you want (left + right stereo out on each jack).

Since you'll be connecting to amplifiers, why not use stereo out internally on the line out jack (green) and use 2 stereo "Y" adapter cables (male on one end, two female on the other) to physically turn that single output jack into three? Radio Shack sells this kind of adapter cables.

You not only get the 3 stereo outputs you want, but you get to use the other 2 jacks on the back panel for line (blue) and microphone (red) inputs.

Bummer. Just not a fan of splitters, especially when there are outs available. Aren't there drivers that offer a 4.1 kind of out that is a like the "party mode" i see on some home-theatre-in-a-box setups that run the same thing to the rears so you can have speakers in two rooms? Something like that would work great for me. Anyway, I guess I'm just surprised this doesn't exist. I suppose I can fall back on splitter cables if need be.

You should check (or ask) on the support site for the D945GCLF2, if you have not already. But I don't think you'll find anything. Can you provide the specs or names and models of the home-theatre-in-a-box setups you are referring to? Knowing what they use may provide a clue to an unofficial (non-supported) way to do what you want.

I was actually referring to the regular home theatre systems, not a PC based system. Sorry for the confusion.
