5.07 is not supported. only the current version (5.63 at the time of this reply) is supported on here.

WinLyrics is a 3rd party plug-in so is not supported - you'd need to see if there is an update for the plug-in or contact the author (if they have details) and see if they can help (or hope someone with experience with that plug-in may know but it's not one i've heard being used for a long time).

Try Minilyrics. Works well with both XP and Win 7 64 bit.

Minilyrics isn't as good as WinLyrics.
I just want a skinned window (same aspect and color than winamp), who displays my .txt or .lrc lyrics (with time tags).
Is there REALLY any satisfying alternative to WinLyrics ?
Because WinLyrics is dead, the website is gone, the creator vanished in time and space...

Still No Solution...

I absolutely agree with Aotus that WinLyrics is the best, comfortable, adjustable soft I have ever used. Mini Lyrics is much worse.
Thanks DrO for useless comment.
However, I'm still looking for the reason of crush, this is first, and then fixable solution to this problem.

Some Reasons Why

I haven't found the reason why just yet but I do know and have done the following...

-- If you disconnect from the internet it won't crash anymore
-- I have tried blocking winamp from connecting to the internet (no luck)
-- I have disabled all check for updates & source from internet connections from both winamp & winlyrics
-- I have tracked down that 1 minute after the program starts (winamp with winlyrics) it crashes because it tries to connect to the following IP 108.61.4.52 which I discovered is the old winlyrics.com site

In summary, I think winlyrics is trying to confirm that it is a legitimate version running by connecting to the internet and this is what makes it crash.

I Think I've Solved It

You have to use the outbound Rules in your windows firewall to block this IP address (108.61.4.52)

Here is an online tutorial:http://www.howtogeek.com/112564/how-...dows-firewall/

Make sure the following is setup in you Firewall
1. Control Panel > Advanced Settings > Outbound Rules > New Rule
2. select custom > choose 'scope' (left menu)
3. select 'which remote ip address...' > select 'Add' and input 108.61.4.52 (click OK)
4. then Next > Next > add a name (e.g.108.61.4.52 or Winlyrics) > Finish

Thank you danpoole! It really works.
I fixed both places: firewall and host file.
So, Aotus thank you too.

One last thing...
This trick worked for some time, then Winamp restarted to crash again.
So, thinking about danpoole's solution, I checked which IP addresses Winamp try to open.
Some of them were suspicious (8 in total), so I decided to block them as well.
Everything is running fine now ! :-)

Hm, you're right, Aotus! Mine crashed in couple of hours. I'll try to block extra IPs. But, I believe you are on the right way. Thanks.

No more crash since I added these URLs.
I blocked them in Kaspersky.
I really don't know what these URL are supposed to be, why Winamp try to connect them, but with this firewall rule, everything works fine.

I blocked all of them using Windows 7 Firewall outbound rules. Works.
Thanks again.

Where did you download your copy of Winlyrics from? It may have been 'adjusted' and it may be trying to phone home to its handlers. These handlers may have been forced to go 'dark' with all the heat on in recent years.

Its now a very good idea to block net access to things that do not need it or if the remote addresses can not be verified as being legitimate. Sometimes the blocking can be done on the app level. Other times, using the Hosts file to globally redirect attempts to contact particular addresses is needed.

If you use the Hosts file method, be sure to double protect it. Setting the Hosts file to read only may not be enough to protect it from being hijacked. Make a copy somewhere and rename it to something totally unrelated, then use a text file comparison app to periodically compare the 2 files for changes.

Paranoid (maybe) and a hassle (could be). But it's better to be safe than sorry, imo.

I didn't know.
Thanks, I will make a backup (I'm a little paranoid too) :-)

Unfortunatelly, mine is crashed again and keeps crashing. Should I add all these IPs to my hosts file?

Sounds like a reasonable thing to do.

Run Windows Resource Monitor while using Winamp + Winlyrics and look in the Network panel. The IP addresses and/or names should be listed when Winlyrics tries to access them.
