Android app for Kindle
I have noticed that the WinAmp android app for Kindle Fire HD from the Amazon app store lacks some of the features that the standard adroid app has, probably because the Kindle is a custom version of Ice Cream Sandwich. The Kindle Fire HD does not have a Google Play Store app.
so... is there a way for us Kindle users to get the standard android app version not from Google Play? .... or how can I upgrade my WinAmp on Kindle to the Pro version and get the Album Washer plug-in? thanks Last edited by kindle fire user; 5th November 2012 at 18:00. |

You can load almost any app you want from the Google store. You just have to "side load" it. This is a little bit of a process but it is not that difficult and does NOT involved "Rooting" the Kindle Fire.
Here is a link that shows a step by step process. It works very well. The only thing is it seem this video is a little old as the Dropbox and Astrofiles programs he talks about have been updated and look a little different than what is shown in the video. The method however is sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvDLYkAFBgk |
