Several formats for each track
Hi,
I'm really looking for a feature which lets me define several formats for several actions. So I'll have e.g. .flac/.wav when just playing something but if i sync my phone it should take mp3 320kbps etc. If i add a song in .flac/.wav format, Winamp should automatically convert it into mp3 and the other formats I use for any actions (if there even are any more). If i add a mp3 it also should convert it to a higher kbps or .wav/.flac (if the quality gets better, which i doubt) or just leave it. If there is a song, which was added as an mp3 and later on I'm adding a .flac version of this song, Winamp shoul ask me about replacing it. If there is already something, please tell me. I'm really looking for this! |

Winamp > Prefs > Portables > (device) > Transcoding tab Checkmark "Enable transcoding" and click "Advanced" Checkmark "Force transcoding of compatible lossless tracks" This will force transcoding of FLAC & WAV You can optionally also checkmark the "Force transcoding of compatible tracks if bitrate is over x kbps", and set the desired value. The songs will be converted to whatever Encoder/Format is set in the Transcoding tab, eg. select MP3 Encoder (Winamp Pro only) with preset: --alt-preset insane Alas, I'm not sure about the rest of your wishlist requests.... |
