That's cos we're normally drunk on a weekend/public holiday in Australia. The head hurting stuff comes later...

US style elections are just fucking weird, all that baby-kissing and shit. I can't stand them.

Hehehe.

Re: Coalition govts.. they suck. We have one at the moment, and it introduced a fucking 10% broadbased GST. Got rid of the 22$ sales tax on SOME high-end products/services, and put a 10% tax on EVERYTHING.

Homeless/otherwise poor people here are SO fucked. I hate the Liberal (akin to your Republican) Party.

Oh, weird. How'd they end up being called "liberal" if they're the opposite of liberals here in the U.S.?

I stopped watching the Super Bowl years ago because the score was always 65-3. Same with the NBA and NHL championships(I forgot about baseball... who won this year?).

I stopped voting years ago for the same reason... it was always a blow-out. Remember Mondale?!?!?!
This year is exciting.. finally it's not a blow-out.

Tied game. No time left on the clock,
Bush kicks the ball, the kick is good!
it's good, it's all over!
Whoa! There's a flag on the play.
Please stand by as the officials sort out the mess.

I might even watch the Stupor Bowl this year.
And, I might even register to vote next time.

I think what this election should serve to do is really show how 1 vote can make a difference... if anything.

The Dems can say "It was deceptive .. the ballots were confusing" - but how soon everyone forgets that florida was originally declared gore...

Well, over here in Australia we *have* to vote as soon as we are 18. No choice. But yeah, we've got like 2 major parties, Liberal and Labour, some idependants, and then there are the Democrats. They like to say they 'keep the bastards honest', and thats what they do. If anyone wants to pass any bills (which we call acts), they have to co-erce the democrats (or an independant) because the other ones don't have the absoulute majority.

Every 4 years, we too vote for our local guy, whether it be for the liberal, labour, individuals, etc. We don't have as much hype here, and our country's colours aren't used on every thing you see.

And we are bloody stuck with the queen. She is basically our President, but she doesn't have all the power yours has got.

So thats how it works in australia.

Last night on TV I saw the JAG episode where they go to australia. Hmmmm, yeah, kinda, that was kinda close to it.
