Why am i the only one in my town capable of logical thought?
My grievances:
In 7th grade, students have not learned how to add nor subtract negative numbers

Kids nowadays have absolutely no pride in their work. if you put your name on it, u damn well better be proud of it

schools are so terrified of being columbine II that they institute policies which actually keep them from doing their job, EDUCATING STUDENTS, such as not letting kids come to school early to get help without approval THE DAY BEFORE. if you dont understand your homework, sorry!

Does anyone else see my point?

Hehe... All too well. I wish I had something good to say about school, but I don't, so I'll keep my trap shut.

You go to school for an education? I thought it was just to keep kids of the street. Don't worry, I went to a (rural) public school - and I still don't know how to do long division. If you're serious about a good education, take the initiative and go and find some good books and teach yourself as much as you can - believe me it pays off later. Also try and find a teacher you get on with (there mightn't be that many...) and ask if the will help you over the phone or by email.

Here I am, sitting at school right now. Somebody´s reading over my shoulder. I don´t know if he understands this (probably not). Anyways, School is worthless. Esp here... All we do is write stuff all the time - it makes me miss textbooks. At least then the focus is slightly more on learning the material instead of just getting it written down...

everyone blames the entire incident on the media. PURE BULLSHIT. had anyone actually read the letters they wrote, they would have found out differently. some people think to hard for their own good.

i could do adding and subtracting of negitive numbers in 5th grade... but i was in the "special" class. but, the expectations for students are far to low. really. some students can do 10x what is expected of them, and pass. some students can't do half of what is expected of them, and they pass. that doesn't really make sense to me when i think about it, but i'm to damn lazy to hit the delete key.

My solution to gun violence:
Encourage fighting as a means to settle disagreements. If a kid beats the snot out of a kid thats picking on him, he isnt gonna shoot up the school.

And all the people who HAVE guns will keep 'em and try to assasinate you...

Bad idea. That's like what happened when they outlawed alcohol...

Fighting won't work either - eventually the person who loses will wind up getting pissed and shooting someone, anyways.

We just need to find new ways to get rid of anger...

Xerxes - We're not running out of food, it's just spread over the world inequally.
ReDVsion - guns are prohibited here and of course you can get them illegally, but the number of people getting shot is nowhere near the number in the US (I know of one case where a crazy kid started whiping out his classmates).
It's a mentality problem. More people should use Winamp and become peaceful beings (or stop being outside because they spend all day reading the forums (which would also solve the problem)).
I just love brackets.

Ah well.. parentheses, brackets. I don't care what they're called, I love them either way.
Not sure about the ADD though.

What do you mean, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). I don't know what you're talking about (Did I spell Attention Deficit Disorder right?). Not everybody who uses perenthesis (I like 'em, BTW) has ADD (I know some people in my school who probly have ADD). Sure, sometimes our forum topics go off-topic (Actually, they always do), but that's just due to a short attention-span (Of course that has NOTHING to do with ADD... ). As for perenthesis (My cat once ate hershey's kisses), I think you should lay off and stop generalizing people (I hate people who use persons instead of people) who use concentrated juice products. It's just common sense! (Why pay for extra water?). My parents always bitch to me about not drinking enough water. I get water in coke! What's the diff? Why should they be bitching to me about my music being too loud? It's MY MUSIC, DAMMIT! (I should be listening to it loud!). And why do people in my school have to listen to their headphones with the volume all the way up? Don't they know that it'll screw their hearing (and mine?), and that smoking is unhealthy for you and your penis? (Which is why I don't smoke)

There. now I think you (Winsane) will know that Perenthesis (()) are NOT a sign of ADD.

Never said you normal people couldn't use parentheses too.
As for the water in Coke, you probably use up more water pissing out the caffeine than you take in from the Coke. Caffeine sucks.

I just thought I'd put my two cents in...

There are already hundreds of gun laws on the books. The problem is with enforcement (or lack thereof). There's no need to make more laws when you can't enforce the ones already there.

Anyway... about that world crisis thing.....
I've got a solution. I like to call them
"thermonuclear weapons of mass destruction."
(man, that has a nice ring to it... )

How 'bout everybody has to have a mandatory amount of time at the firing range by a certain (young) age? Then those stupid kids would respect guns and not do anything wacked. On the other hand, we need to keep guns away from children when not intender to be used. Leaving shit out causes trouble. I got a buddy who brought a couple live & dead rounds to school and almost got expelled.
If your wondering what the hell my point is, here goes. Throw out all existing gun laws. Replace them with ones that can and will be enforced. Educate children, and for shit's sake, dont leave guns and shit around the house.
Thank you for your time,

John

What's a negative number???

But we need to have mandatory military service in this country. Having to carry around an 18 pound rifle everywhere you go makes most people sick of those things, if not at least respect them. Those who like it, well, they can stay in and become heroes or whatever. Use your psychotic tendencies for you country gosh darnit!

Parentheses are perfect for dealing with tangents, and most of us with ADD tend to think of quite a few tangents.
