Bad Bug Kindle Fire
I have a 1st Gen Kindle Fire and loaded up Winamp for Android on it from the Amazon store. After a few minutes, the wifi drops and the streams stop. I know on Android you can make the wifi run without shutting down in the setup, but Amazon seems to have disabled that feature.
So... it must be possible to keep the wifi from shutting off in software. Other programs can keep the wifi alive. I would pull Winamp out of the Amazon store because it's about as useful as tits on a bowling ball on a Kindle... unless you want to wake the Kindle up every few minutes. Unless there is some work around? Or you can fix it? I'd really like to leave my Kindle Fire on my stereo while I'm charging it and listen to shoutcast. |

Hey
Alas, the version on the Amazon Store is very old. I think it was v1.1, which is now ~2 years old. The current version for Android from Google Play is v1.4.10 We would like to update the version on Amazon but, afaik, Amazon doesn't currently support in-app upgrades via Google Store (so users will not be able to upgrade to Pro or purchase the Album Washer/Lyrics add-ons). However, we do plan to resolve this problem at some point, somehow.... And yes, I agree, we should probably remove v1.1 from the Amazon Store. |

I sideloaded the beta and it works fine. I would just stick the upgrade in the Amazon store and call it good. It's sure has to beat broken.
Thanks. Last edited by rockouthippie; 16th April 2013 at 03:15. |
