Winamp. What does it stand for?

I just found out what Winamp stands for by chance browsing the net. And I'm surprised that all these yrs I thought it stood for Windows Amplifier which is wrong.

We are trying to find out the correct original meaning for the name Winamp.
Nobody is certain and hoping you can help.
This is what we have so far..

So the short answer is Windows Advanced Multimedia Products.
But it also goes by other names..

So my question to you is..
What was the original meaning or abbreviation of Winamp?
