I've been reading a lot about this problem lately.
The new Winamp v2.71 is unable to play WMA's after a clean install. I've tried to reinstall 2.70 but that didn't help either. I've also installed the wmaudioredist file but still no luck. I (among many others) don't know what to do, all my other software, Windows Media Player, Napster, SoundForge etc.. etc.. can play WMA's without problems. What happened? I guess it has to be something with Winamp 2.71 screwing up something with it's registry settings I dunno but I would be very happy if you could solve this issue because I don't wanna use WMPlayer, it's such a resource hog. |

I've got exactly the same problem.
But I had the problem before v2.71. I tried 2.64, 2.65 and 2.7 and don't find a solution. Please HELPPPPPPP !!!! |

Ok, well I've found a solution. Simply d/l the full version and you'll be able to play WMA's again.
I can't understand why they say the standard version plays WMA's when it apparently doesn't anymore. The reason I only download the standard version nowadays is that I don't care for the MJUICE format. |

Sorry, but I've already tried the Full version of 2.64, 2.65, 2.70 and 2.71 ...
It's not the solution. |

hmm, weird. It worked for me but I guess I was just lucky. There seem to be something pretty weird with the WMA thing in Winamp.
