Server setup issues
I searched, and searched, and Googled and searched. I have the Shoutcast DSP and the Shoutcast DNAS and this is my first time attempting to set up a streaming station. I've followed the tutorial to the T, but when I attempt to setup the DNAS I get this error "There was an error changing the server from setup to broadcasting mode.
Attempted to open http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin.cgi?sid=0 on the server." What am I to do about this? I'm pulling my hair out over this... I thought to check the log, but when I click the folder it is empty... what gives? Anybody, somebody, please! I'd greatly appreciate it |

check that sc_serv.conf was saved in the same folder as the DNAS program file. if it is then just make sure there is no DNAS already running and then just start the DNAS program file (don't use the setup option again).
if no sc_serv.conf is being generated then you need to make sure there's no errors reported in the DNAS window when going through the setup process and that you've got write access for the folder i.e. you've run it as an admin (or better still, are doing it all from a folder _not_ in the Windows Program Files folder if this is done on a Windows machine). additionally, if the DNAS window isn't staying open, you'll need to open a specific console window and then run setup / the DNAS within that so any errors will stay in the console after the DNAS has closed. and finally, the log is generally saved into the OS temp folder if not able to be saved to where the config file (if present) instructs it or if running things in a folder without normal file write permissions (which is most likely without knowing the OS that you're using). |
