Why do I need username password to stream?

Why am I required a username and password to stream from my own box yet shoutcast has not given me any information pertaining to what I need to stream? This is some ridiculous instructions I've ever read and I can probably do rocket science. Winamp>Ip address>connect>stream. How hard is that? I downloaded the winamp DSP and it's asking me for a username and password. I don't have a username and password. Shoutcast did not give me an IP address or username and password. When I try to setup the setup.bat it always ends in a page not found and error in the command. I can't run sc_serve.exe. Your instructions are not well written.

I'd like to mention EONS ago, all i did was use my ip address and stream from my box. No additional crap was needed as you can see I've been a member since 2004. I'm quite confused with this new method.

That's because it's up to you to

a) set up shoutcast DNAS on a server of your choice. "shoutcast" doesn't know it's IP address
b) when setting up DNAS, you configure the password - "shoutcast" doesn't know what you will set up

"If you don't like DNAS, write your own damn system"

So I did

Just tested with sc_serv2_win64-latest.exe and it works without any issues. My default browser shows the setup on 127.0.0.1 with port 8000. In which folder you installed it?
