Hello everyone,
I've searched the discussions to no avail. I'm running 1.8.0 on linux (in background mode, so it starts up when the box boots) and I've got an introfile and backupfile set. When a broadcasting windows box is connected to the server (not sending anything, just connected via the DSP) the introfile and backupfile work fine. But once the windows box disconnects, the server won't play anything, and a listener's winamp gives a "401 Service Unavailable". This to me completely defeats the purpose of the backupfile. Am I missing something, or does this feature not quite work yet? Thanks, Matt |

Your search missed this:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=38465 Which among other things says the backup file is only played to people already connected. The server appears down, and no new connections can be made. But existing connections won't get disconnected. Read the thread above for more tricks to using the backup file, including comments from Nullsoft. |
