I read on teletext yesterday that the Vatican has declared/denounced pop, rock and even opera music as a deviance of the Cristian faith, or something like that. It seems that gathering in large crowds to listen to music is considered a kind of unholy mass. What do you think it? I wonder will there be religious fanatics protesting outside record stores...

I guess that anything revolving around the concept of pleasure could be labelled as a deviance of the Cristian
faith
This includes sex, music and Winamp

I just gotta say that thousands amassing outside the friggin Pope's window is just as pompous as thousands attending an Ozzy concert.
What's he think he's God?

Practically every major decision the Catholic church has ever done has been wrong and dominative, therefore nothing can surprise me with their dictatorship-like ruling anymore.

Man, I could go on and on and on and on about this topic but I guess I'll just stop it here before it gets out of hand (and all christians, no offense).

Satan Appears in the Vatican; the pope responds "Oh my God!"

A lot of classic opera is in fact christian in nature; for instance Handel's Messiah, Solomon... most anything Bach wrote was christian related...

I'm think they are confusing opera with modern theatre - what with scandalous "modern" storylines like "Rent"...

(I think the Pope should excommunicate Niel Patrick Harris just because it would be funny )
