if i see another:

Portal
Business Solutions/Network Solutions
CBS Sports
BMG False Free CD (12 for the price of one scam)
Or AOL
or the compaq ones in the plugins pages when browsing.
Or Veritas
Or The Latest TIVO ad i will destroy the advert folder with a virus that only attacks that only folder.

These ads are too repetitive for comfort.

Do They Think We have thousands of dollars to spend on their products that probably wont even arrive on time.

My grandmother bought MEGA-MEMORY Mail Order and they said they were still wating for stock to come in. and on the date they had extended it to had been extended again. and then again. we paid express we expect express service. Never are we going to use mail order shopping nor tvshopping network nor are we ever going to shop on line.

BTW, Charmander...
BMG is no scam It's sweet
Pay about $1.50 in shipping per CD but that's it - no "Gotta buy x number" - (like that other "free" company - Cocrappia House)

I've been a BMG Member for about a year - very happy...see

Incidentally, BMG is the company that's backing Napster, another BIG + in my book

Oh, but I do agree about the annoying ad banners - especially because it takes longer for my computer to download one of those POC things (POC - I'm going to give up swearing for Lent hence POC instead of POS) - then to load a full page of replies with all the html and vb sigs!

Cute sayingless

The ad banners have been around for ages, and they are not that obstrusive.

Just be glad that there are no popup banners!

How many times can we say, If you can get them for free why pay?

As for adverts and banners, I've learnt to ignore them.

I hate all that shit too, but what I hate the most is the fact that the banner ads take priority over the actual content of the pages. The fucking ads are loaded before any of the page content. THAT pisses me off the most. It just seems that the forums are secondary to the banners... and that's not right.

P.S.- My 's are cooler than those 's.....

Watched PBS lately, X-man? All of those "corporate sponsorship acknowledgements" before and after each show (especially during the "Jazz" broadcasts) look like commercials to me!

its people like you who justify's what people say about napster users.... ie they only do it to get music they would otherwise have to pay for.. How we hope to persuade people that it should be available as a means of testing if you like the music before buying it with attitudes like that??

Well yes, thats true. Well, since roman era at least, there
have always been wealthy "patrons" and "benefactors" of the arts- royalty, the church, or wealthy merchants. So if they want to say "this Andrea Bocelli broadcast is brought to you by Pepsi" fine then, as I don't have the cash to see Bocelli in concert, and thanks to Pepsi I can at least hear him over the Television. This arrangement is centuries old- be it televisions of now or classic theatres of old.

Recently though, i have noticed these announcements are more and more like commercials rather than simple little annoucements... they have video clips and are much more elaborate and lengthy. THIS is what I think is a perversion
of PBS... especcially when at the same time they air those
things where they are begging for money all the time...

You want this to be advertisement-free. But i bet a thousand bucks you still want winamp to be freeware. So how'd you expect both things to happen?
