Just wondering, what is Delphi good for and is the Solaris OS better or worse than the others?

Solaris is a good OS. It does have its limitations but in a networking enviroment there are good things that it can do. It is very solid but there is also limitied apps for it. IF you want anther solid os go for VMS/VAX, it was made by digital, compaq now that they bought it out. It is what the government uses on a lot of their computers.

I use delphi in some of my CS practical (as well as Miranda!!). It's quite easy to use and has the advantage that when you install a delphi program it has no need for external files. but it's slower than C++
