Server requirements vs number of users

Has anyone compiled a chart or something to give a general idea of the server requirements vs the number of users? Bandwidth is fairly easy to calculate based on bit rate, but how much does RAM/CPU need to scale up based on the number of users?

you will probably run out of bandwidth or tcp slots before you will ever hit any real cpu or memory walls using a modern server...

if your savvy with any command line usage or scripting, its pretty easy to fire up a bunch of processes that tune in, then you can ramp it up and monitor the usage results. test with 10, then 50, then 100.. that will give you a decent idea at least
