cant set up to stream ...

hi
Im new to streaming complete novice actually , I have been using Winamp for home want to stream to secondlife clone Inworldz
So I downloaded latest version winamp I could find and installed the plug in as recommended
went to preferences
DSP /effect
clicked the DSP v 1.9.0
and nothing happens at all
Im running windows 7
as I said I installed winamp and the plug in as recommended
have not tinkered with any settings

Does anyone know why it won't go to next window please
