Whacko AVS III

Well I figured I'd annoy everyone by advertising, but here goes: Whacko AVS III is out... and waiting to published in the ever long WinAMP.com Queue. In the meantime you can grab it from my website or from DeviantART.com.

Can you?

Of course! The more people get to see them, the better!

You should be aware of the infamous DM bug in AVS. I haven't located it, but I think this is what causes it to happen:

When you have a complex DM, AVS will spend a lot of time evaluating the code. If you switch presets during a critical time when AVS is still busy, it will crash. The reason it happens a lot with 3D DM's is because of the complexity (and therefor longer time) of the code. I think using alpha-blending is also related.

The bottom line is, most of my 3D DM's can cause AVS to crash when switching presets. So far I haven't found any workaround, but the frequency of crashes is pretty low... and you can always use the other presets that don't use 3D DynMovs.

Damn, that's great. I love the Discoball, especially since I can see my own presets on the ball by replacing the first effect list with them. That's a really cool feature.
