Another Impatient Newbie Here

Hi all, i uploaded a skin yesterday but just found out it takes a whole lot longer to actually show up. i wouldnt mind the comments on it, so ill post a url for the pic, tell me it suks if it does, but i spent a bit of time on it. althought it may look standard, 99% has been skinned. cheers ! mike from sydney http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/magedis/winampskins/

0/4 skinner skin = pus
1/4 skinner = barely useful.
1/2 skinner = useful for 2 mins, then ALT-S again
3/4 skinner = a bit more to go and ur on a winner
4/4 skinner = u little beauty..

urs is "1/2" skinner skin in my books. upgrade to 3/4 atleast.

I personally like this skin - I dislike the cbuttons - maybe you could change them - and the shuffle and repeat - I don't like the "base" looking buttons
I don't think you used a skinner.exe all the way, but I do think you used one to start with, or to end with.
I think this skin has good potential - its not like a lot of car/skinner.exe skins with a nice picture just slapped on it - you obviously took time with the background, the 3d elements including the border - and I think the 2 cars at the top on either side of the title was a nice touch.
Not a bad skin though - what paint program do you use? I suggest Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com) if you don't already have it. PS6 is a little rough on the beginner - but Gimp is free (www.gimp.org).
And welcome to the forums

i can understand people not liking the 1 minute skins, but its what came up 1st in a search engine, it wasnt untill i decided to look harder and found this forum that i delved a little deeper and found out that there is so much more to it that hit create. well i downloaded the files from winamp that show the bits and pieces and am learning, although this ferrari skin took me about 10 hrs, i consider it a learning experience. ill now try something more not-standard or base looking and ill post some pics when available. once again, thanks for the support

I didn't like the red skin very much, I think it looks rather unfinished. But the green one looks VERY promising! I'm looking forward to see the result!

the problem is im getting impatient trying to do these and subsequently i start another main hhahahha. i i know i am going to have to stick with one and spend a few weeks or so on it, so any suggestions which one on the following URL i should stay with. but if they all sorta suk, then ill have to start a new one lol http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/magedis/winampskins/

ps: yes i did run them through a skinner.exe, but just to see if everything lined up :_)

Ok call me impatient BUT ive finished a skin, whoo hoo my 1st real one, not a skinner hahhaha, please got to http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/magedis/winampskins/ to get it or maybe not LOL. I think im getting the hang of the many bitmaps, surely they can only get better . thanks again to all thats helped and answered this thread.

are all the windows skinned? avs? mb? how bout mikro? I don't want to download till they're all done (mikro is optional, unless you have it, then I must insist)
