How do I stream what I'm playing on my turntables?
I've gone thru the "how to setup an internet radio station" section, and I'm still stumped on how to stream what's playing on my turntables. In the Shoutcase DSP source box, I've selected the input device as "soundcard input" , cos I'm playing music sourced through the line-in on my soundcard rather than an mp3.
Also, I'm not sure how i connect to my server via winamp to listen if it's all connected properly and working, since my soundcard automatically plays what's coming through the line-in... one last thing, when i finally get this all working, do i give this link out to friends to listen to the stream? hxxp://myipaddress:myport#/listen.pls thanks for your time and help. |

Well in the shoutcast plugin, go in imput option and choose "soundcard imput" and quote "line imput". I'm not sue but if you're correctly connected to the server it should work. Let me your radio adress and i'll try
![]() the adress for your friend is your_ip:the_open_port, for example 80.13.100.37:8000 , all they have to do is opening winamp and click on the left-up corner: play-->location; they enter the adress and listen ![]() Hope i manage to help you

You've done all the right things as far as I can tell, so maybe it's something simple.
Check that you can record the line-in from your sound card first - open the volume controls and check line-in as the source for recording, and then use the sound recorder to make sure that works. To test that it all works is a little convoluted - In the winamp prefs, check the options box marke "allow multiple instances" and the re-start. This will let you run 2 copies of winamp at once. Of course, if you have the dsp selected on the first copy, it will load up again for the second, so you'll have to close that. Anyway, you can now punch in the server address and see what happens. Perhaps nothing - your sound card needs to be full duplex to play and record at the same time. Also you might get an echo problem... If you punch the address into winamp directly to listen, it is just http://my.ip.number:myport but if you want to put a link on a page that will auto load up winamp, it is (like you said) http://my.ip.number:myport/listen.pls which is just a playlist file pointing to the same server. N joi! Leo |
