alrighty, major improvements:

better interface.
displays filename to convert, filesize, and output directory.

still no fucking zipping of converted files. you must do that yourself. i believe visconvert.exe is working as well, but let me know.

i think i may switch to c++ so i may have zlib support, but who knows?

yes indeed. it is the PL turned into the Thinger because, as we know, winamp 2 doesn't have a thinger, so there was a need for the conversion

but, maybe Bizzy D. & Co. will come out with a newer version of their converter template and i will change my program accordingly

We gotta fix the damn resize in the Playlist and Minibrowser aswell..
I dunno if the minibrowser is included here or not, but if it is, take a look at the resize, it's not pretty.

Maybe the thinger can be dissed totally, I mean, it really isn't needed and since there's no good way to implement it, I say diss it.

In some skins, the AVS frame can be used to skin components and the Thinger, but in some skins it can't coz of how it looks with the titlebar.
Also, in some skins, the Playlist OR the Minibrowser frame, could be used instead, but then again, some skins don't look as good again with the titlebar design...

That was version 1.004 and i think that the error was caused by accidentally pressing the convert button with no skin selected. I have since downloaded version 1.6 and successfully converted a skin. Cheers. Keep us posted on any updates as I think this will be a very useful tool indeed.

Another thing I have noticed( and it's a little strange) is that when using a converted skin and then listening to a radio station the studio crashes. But is fine when using other skins. ??

I just tried listening to a shoutcast station while using the WA2 Base skin (the template) and also my own converted skin (which provided parts of the template) and all is fine...

I don't think it's the skin template(s) that are buggy, maybe it's your program, although I seriously doubt it, or perhaps it's macaroon's 'puter that's a lil buggy or somethin'...

Not trying to point fingers either, I for one would like to get to the bottom of this and solve it.. And it still could be the templates that are buggy, it's possible.

new changes in the upcoming version:
- if skin.wsz(zip) has a folder inside it that contains the skin files, rather than just containing the skin files, the converter will fix this.
- built-in visconvert (converting viscolor.txt to vis.xml,vis-shade.xml) function, rather than using visconvert.exe.
- and of course, small bugfixes and speed improvements.

and we must! get to the bottom of the radio thingamajig

Coz, the first versions of that converter didn't.
I haven't tried this program of your's yet so I don't know, that's why I'm asking..

good work. It didnt work on Steal This Amp but it did work on Moutain
Dew so I'm happy. Anywayz there's a problem with the way it handles
transparencies in 2.xx and with the EQ spine (see attached)

to convert wa2 trans to wa3 you have to open it up in somthing like psp or ps and save the trans ur self... unless some1 can figure this in maki

Works extremely well, but it would kick too much more ass if the playlist thing turned out to be the actual playlist and not the thinger. You should have it create both and then the person can choose if to have the thinger or the playlist in there, cause I converted my favorite skin but the playlist looks butt ugly using the default stuff and I'm too lazy (and know too little) to convert the playlist

thinger will probably be dissed and playlist will be implemented when the resize is fixed, it'll look butt ugly before that I can assure you...

But for the resize to be fixed, alot of scripting has to be done and I really can't say I know how to make that script.
I will, however look into it sometime.

Bizzy: This is a complete template, not just the latest addons, check it out and see if there's something missing, or there's something you wish to change or something...
I might have forgotten something, but I don't think I have.

Among other things new in this version are the Minibrowser and Playlist, now with fully functional resize!! Thanks HollowEarth!
Playlist also have winshade mode which has an even better resize than on Winamp2!
Playlist buttons will come later, it's not possible in beta3 but I will add them as soon as it is possible.

winshade is the 'small window'-mode that you can switch to in the default skin in winamp3 on the main window, eq window and playlist window. it's the same on winamp2.
window shade mode it's called I think..

microAMP sounds like a skin to me, or maybe a mp3player, but the purpose of it, whatever it is, is no doubt to be small, very small..

Coz when we have reached that state, most of the winamp2 functions are emulated in the converter.

that one doesn't have either playlist, minibrowser nor avs frame.
