I have been doing this all day using Exact Audio Copy and LAME encoder to decompress, create a CUE sheet, then automatically (mostly) EAC splits the wav into tracks using the silences found in the CUE sheet. Sometimes I have to manually locate and mark the tracks, but it seems to work pretty well. I then recompress at 320kbps, and I am done. I don't seem to lose any quality, and I have a pretty critical ear if I do say so myself. I can also do some repairs to the wavs, like removing glitches and errors form ripping old scratched discs that were unplayable on a regular CD player.
www.exactaudiocopy.de will get you started. |

Thanks for this - I'm too technically illiterate to understand it all, but I'll soldier on anyway. Thanks, agin, for taking the trouble.
Cheers |
